Sound engineer Simon Daniels is credited with playing a vital role in Hoddle‘s survival, after performing CPR treatment on him before the ambulance arrived.Speaking to former Wales international Savage, Hoddle revealed he remembers little about the incident.“I can’t remember any of that at all (being on the show),” he said. “I remember you and [Paul] Ince walking towards me with a birthday cake. I remember that and the other thing I remember is the lizard. The reason the lizard came on I presume because Harry [Redknapp] was going in [I’m a Celebrity! Get Me Out Of Here].“Without the CPR, without Simon, I wouldn’t be sitting here now,” said Hoddle. “It’s pretty obvious. I can’t remember any of that obviously.“I just thank God I was in the studios, with Simon there, and the defibrillator there; you know, I could have gone and taken a phone call and I wouldn’t be sitting here today.”Hoddle is considered one of the best players of his generation in a career which saw him play for the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham and win 53 caps for England.He also became manager of England in 1996 and was in charge of the Three Lions at the 1998 World Cup.
